UPVC Replacement Door Handles
As time passes, the handles on your doors will wear down and require replacement. It is crucial to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on replacement or new doors. This style door handle is offered in a wide range of styles & finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The uPVC/Composite handles are made from durable materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that need a heavy-duty design. The handles are inline and work with the same spindle as well as screw fixings so they can be easily fitted to existing or new uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be placed and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever can also be cut to fit a wider range of locks. This is particularly beneficial for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be opened by a thumb turn inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles used on the majority of doors. The handle can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are commonly used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a variety of finishes & variations.
The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes including White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle a high performance and long-lasting durability for its intended use.
All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with screws and a spindle, allowing them to be fitted on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is often an advantage when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that sag out of the horizontal position when not in use.
It is important to match up the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called 'handle centre' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.
Once you have decided on the proper PZ size, you will need to ensure that the push and lever pads are shaped to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They typically have of a round or square design with an internal lever and external push pad.

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They operate by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned to those in the lock body and allowing them to turn an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

This is a growing type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is attacked with a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than opening a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which could hinder an insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is located inside the base of your door handle backplate, providing a spring solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their original position after using. In the past, a lot of handles did not have a spring integrated into them, and as a result, they are more likely to slide or 'drop' once the locking mechanism is removed. This simple feature is one of the best ways to correct this and it is also a great way to prevent your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they aren't always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please check the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
